About SwatchAtlas
SwatchAtlas is a tool-driven color reference platform designed for engineers, UI designers, and creators who need verifiable color accuracy.
Our Mission and Editorial Philosophy
The modern web is flooded with auto-generated color pages that contradict each other on standard color values and offer no verifiable sources. SwatchAtlas was created to prioritize factual accuracy, accessibility verification, and zero-bloat browser utilities.
Rather than mass-generating thousands of shallow pages, each color page on SwatchAtlas is documented with its official standards background, WCAG contrast audits, and practical UI guidelines.
Color Standards and Verification Methodology
All named CSS colors cataloged on SwatchAtlas strictly follow the W3C CSS Color Module Level 4 recommendation.
When third-party design platforms (such as Figma or specialty dictionaries) diverge from official specifications, we clearly delineate standard values from vendor-specific palettes in comparative reference tables.
Technical Architecture & Local Privacy
SwatchAtlas is built with pre-rendered static HTML and served globally via Cloudflare Workers Static Assets. This ensures:
- 100% Crawlable Semantic HTML: Search engines and assistive technologies receive complete markup without requiring client JavaScript execution.
- Client-Side Local Computation: Color conversions, palette generation, WCAG 2.2 contrast checking, and wallpaper generation run entirely inside your browser. No private color choices or parameters are logged to external servers.
- High Availability & Zero Server Bloat: Static delivery eliminates database bottlenecks and server downtime.
